Mauron is a small town in the center of Brittany. The town has everything you would need from a small community: shops, restaurants, bars and a large supermarket. Mauron has a dental surgery and an excellent doctors practice. There are four schools for children up to 16 (after 16 schooling is at the near-by town of Ploërmel).

A rail link from Mauron to Rennes is due to commence next year, for commuters and tourists.

The town of Mauron is situated on the edge of the forest Brocéliande, a stunning primeval forest probably most famous for its association with the legends of King Arthur; and the Voie Vert, a 40 kilometer hiking trail. Brocéliande attracts tourists from across Europe.

Mauron is less than hours drive from the port of St Malo, Dinard Airport, or the city of Rennes.
